Music production online: how to get started
The first step is to sign up for a free Tunedly account. Once you are logged in, create a new project. Decide whether you want the traditional Tunedly experience with ‘Live Production’, or our more streamlined and high-quality ‘Studio Production’. You can choose from several packages, ranging from single instrument productions, all the way to full band productions, or opt for one of our Studio Production packages depending on the amount of customization you need. Once you decide what package works best for you, simply upload your instructions and any supporting files (rough demo, lyrics, etc.). Don’t have finished lyrics or a rough demo? No problem, simply add song, melody and/or lyric composition to your project through Tunedly and we will help you with your composition, chords, melody and lyrics.
Live Production: choosing your musicians
Great, your project is created and all files have been uploaded successfully. If you’re using one of our ‘Live Production’ packages, the next step is to choose your session singers from our online roster. We currently boast a roster of around 100 musicians and singers. With such a versatile roster, we can handle any genre and style, from Country to Pop, Hip Hop, Rock and Folk. Can’t decide who works best for your song? Don’t worry, your project manager will help you make the right choice.
Studio Production: a streamlined process
If you chose to use one of our Studio Production packages, Tunedly will put together the right studio producers and musicians appropriate for your project – you can rest assured we know what we’re doing and will always select the best people for your project! No matter which type of production process you chose, now that your team is assembled, you and your project manager discussed the details of your project, it’s time to get started. Your project manager will interact with the musicians assigned to your song. The group is coming together for a jam session and then everyone is laying down their individual track, or different producers contribute different elements (Timbaland style) to then be incorporated by our lead Producer. Once all tracks are recorded or produced, a professional audio engineer will edit the files and ultimately mix the final product to music industry standards. You can also elect to purchase a mastering add-on to also have your song mastered by a top Hollywood mastering engineer.
Music production online: the end result
Once the production is done, you will receive your song production. If you have any revisions, Tunedly offers a complimentary round of revisions to change anything you like (except with the Essentials Track package). With the Premium Studio Production package, you get an additional complimentary revision as well. If you have a complicated production where you want unlimited revisions, tracks, instruments and want the full service experience like any top producer in Hollywood, we also offer an add-on for ‘unlimited production’ that ensures your track is world-class and ready to be distributed to streaming services and get playlisted. Once you accept the final production of your song, you will also receive:
- Free limited time storage of your master
- AIFF or WAV final mix
- All rights released to you, you own 100% of the master
- Additional audio formats upon request
- Instrumental available upon request (if your song has vocals)
- Stems available only with our premium packages with a paid add-on in advance of beginning your project – make sure you request these at the start!
